The implementation of this algorithm is in early stages. To improve the compression performance and minimize the spatial distortion, quantizing coefficients can be selected more carefully and bit allocation, after quantization, can be done. Also ZTE coded symbols can be packed as one single bitstream. Another great improvement can be achieved by implementing block motion vector search and block motion compensation to eliminate the re-coding of unchanged blocks in the sequence. These steps can make big improvements in video compression. Recent video compression algorithms use this technique.
